August 4, 2025 – “A Historic Day: Intimate Partner Betrayal Awareness Day”

A Historic Day: Intimate Partner Betrayal Awareness Day

Today, August 4 marks a powerful milestone: the very first Intimate Partner Betrayal Awareness Day.

Come to the Table Ministry honors this day to validate the lived experiences of millions who have suffered the trauma of betrayal by someone they deeply trusted. This is about more than acknowledgment—it’s about advocacy, education, and the dismantling of the stigma that so often silences those who are hurting.

Betrayal is trauma. Research now confirms what betrayed partners have always known in their bodies and bones: betrayal—especially when tied to secretive compulsive behaviors like sexual addiction or chronic infidelity—shatters safety at the deepest level. The nervous system doesn’t just “get over it.” Healing requires time, support, and truth.

For too long, this trauma has been misunderstood or minimized.

Too often, betrayed partners suffer in silence. Our mission is to change that, one day at a time!

Ladies

TIME IS RUNNING OUT TO REGISTER FOR THIS AMAZING WEEKEND!!

ONLY 52 DAYS UNTIL THE PRINCESS WARRIOR RETREAT!

TIME IS TICKING!!

Your copy should address 3 key questions: Who am I writing for (audience)? Why should they care (benefit)? What do I want them to do (call-to-action)?

Create a great offer by adding words like “free,” “personalized,” “complimentary,” or “customized.” A sense of urgency often helps readers take action, so consider inserting phrases like “for a limited time only” or “only 7 remaining!”

We often get asked: How accurate are polygraph tests in recovery settings? In this video, we dive into the use of disclosure and maintenance polygraphs—typically administered shortly after betrayal, then every 3–6 months—as a tool to foster transparency and healing.

This video is not a technical lecture—but a real-world look at how polygraphs function as part of recovery protocols. Ultimately, the value often lies in accountability, truth-building, and emotional clarity—not just infallible data.

If you’re involved in recovery counseling or supporting someone post-betrayal, this content offers clarity and practical perspective.

Betrayal Trauma First Responder

Online Training

ONLY A FEW SPOTS REMAINING!!!

In every church community, individuals are silently suffering from the effects of compulsive unwanted sexual behaviors & partner betrayal trauma. Ministry leaders are often the first people these individuals turn to, yet many feel ill-equipped to respond effectively.

Trauma Informed Ministry: Walking with the wounded after betrayal

Our primary focus/purpose is:

Equipping ministry leaders to walk with the betrayed – with compassion, clarity, and Christ-centered hope.

This unique training is designed specifically for pastors, church staff, lay leaders, and faith-based professionals who want to respond wisely and tenderly to individuals impacted by sexual betrayal trauma—especially women of faith.

You’ll learn how to:

  • Understand the effects of trauma after betrayal using the APSATS Multidimensional Partner Trauma Model (MPTM)
  • Recognize the spiritual crisis that often accompanies betrayal, and how to gently support faith deconstruction and reconstruction (support during a crisis of faith)
  • Provide compassionate care without over-spiritualizing or minimizing pain
  • Navigate sensitive topics like forgiveness, trust, reconciliation, and boundaries from a biblically grounded, trauma-aware perspective
  • Distinguish between helping the betrayed and enabling the betrayer—even within the same congregation
  • To be a first responder who is a safe, steady presence for women and couples walking through confusion, grief, anger, and deep spiritual questions.

This training isn’t just about information—it’s about transformation. It will give you tools, language, and posture to walk more faithfully with the wounded.

When betrayal enters sacred spaces, the Church must respond with truth, tenderness, and unwavering integrity.

In addition to the above you can anticipate demonstrations within the group and enriching breakout sessions to support your understanding and confidence.

We welcome Pastors, ministry staff, small group leaders, lay counselors, women’s and men’s ministry leaders, and anyone who desires to be a safe and informed presence for those experiencing partner betrayal trauma.

Join Dr. Barbara Steffens, expert in trauma-informed care and co-author of Your Sexually Addicted Spouse, and Lyschel Burket, APSATS-certified coach and founder of Hope Redefined, for this impactful and transformational training session. RECORDED SESSIONS WILL BE AVAILABLE FOR A LIMITED TIME AFTER THE WORKSHOP!
